Drawing Classes with Mike Ryan

Mike Ryan is an artist from Foxton who can regularly be seen at local markets drawing portraits. He is passionate about drawing and teaching to adults and children. He has a wonderful ability to inspire adults and children alike to learn and share their knowledge.

Mike has been teaching art in the Manawatu for the last five years. Many of the students return year after year and he sees their skills grow and flourish.

Below are examples of the children’s work and the teaching environment.

The class environment is a quiet and safe place for children and adults to develop their skill and love of art. Students are encouraged to share their work with others and provide feedback. Parents are welcome to stay with their children. Adults are welcome to bring interested children to class as well.

Every person who attends is a true artist

Family classes

Come and learn to draw a variety of objects, people, animals, learning to render shape and form with different shading techniques and perspective. More advanced students are encouraged to try different media such as soft pastel or conte crayon.

No prior skill is necessary.

The goal is to help your each one of you discover your own creativity and artistic skill.
